June 29, 2020In 1985, CASA began its mission to advocate for the most vulnerable in our community with 22 trained advocate volunteers, of which 6 volunteers were assigned and then served 10 children. Today, 35 years later, CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties is serving the highest number of children, approximately 21%, of all children served by CASA programs in Kansas. June 3, 2020Our mission is to empower abused and neglected children with a volunteer's voice in court by seeking a safe and permanent home for each child. Since 1985, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) has worked to recruit, train and support community volunteers who act as advocates in court on behalf of child victims of abuse or neglect.
